Nourishment November — Week 4 (Day 22 of 30)

Nourishment November — Week 4 (Day 22 of 30)

November 22, 2021

Dear saint,

We continue to thank the Lord for His dispensing in the saints. This is Week 4 of Nourishment November, the last full week of November, and we are assured that the Lord will continue to fill the hungry with good things (Luke 1:53). Let us continue being nourished for the remainder of this month.

For the preparation of the bride

We are petitioning concerning all the saints, that each one would be kept in this ministry pursuit and cultivate a habit of being fed by the truth. Why do we need to be constituted with the truth? Why do we need to spend time every day to get into the Word and into the ministry? Ephesians 5:29 speaks of Christ nourishing and cherishing the church as His bride. The corresponding footnote in the Recovery Version says, “To nourish is to feed us with the living word of the Lord.” Christ is caring for the church by feeding us with His living word. As we are nourished with His word, the bride is being prepared. The more Christ is wrought into us as reality, the more the bride is prepared and readied for her wedding day. Let us view our daily pursuit in this way, that our being nourished is for the preparation of the bride which would hasten the Lord’s return! Let us redeem the time by spending it under our Lord’s nourishing and cherishing care.

Enjoyments from the saints

Below are enjoyments from the saints during this past week. If you would like to submit your enjoyment or testimony for the saints’ encouragement, please email Philip Lee (philiplee260@gmail.com) or Jeff Ou (jeffou7@gmail.com) with your message and it will be included anonymously in the next email and blog post.

In Message 19 of Fellowship Concerning the Urgent Need of the Vital Groups, brother Lee speaks of ceasing all our unnecessary talk because all our idle talking reduces our capacity to teach the truth. I then had an evening in which—I only realized afterwards—I had much unnecessary talking, joking, and jesting. Oh Lord, thank You for Your exposing! Purify my speech, all my talking and joking, so that I can be trained to speak Your words and teach the truth.

Yesterday I was preparing what to share on Lord's day. While I was struggling I saw my "Nourishment November" book "How to Enjoy God and How to Practice the Enjoyment of God" on the desk. Then I was reminded of the portion I read before in Chap 2, under section title "Ministering the Word Being to Enjoy God." As I started reading it I was laughing, because what Br Lee described in the beginning of that section was exactly what I just did. Later in this section it says "There is no need to worry about the subject or the content. As soon as we are connected to the Lord, touch Him, and have His presence within, we can stand because the Lord is in us as our enjoyment and our everything." Then I tried to prepare my sharing according to our brother's advice. This morning I felt I did a much better job than before when I shared. What a ministry to turn our attention from a thing to a living person!

Lord, continue to prepare us as Your bride by nourishing us with Your living word!
